As a result of C&I Engineering Solutions no nonsense and dependable approach, existing clients have gained the confidence to request our services time and again. We regularly receive feedback confirming that our capability and integrity provide our clients with reliable and trustworthy solutions. As a result we have formed close working relationships with both local and internationally leading oil and gas companies, such as Total, BP, Nexen, Enquest, CNRI and Premier Oil.
Detailed below is a brief overview of some of the projects recently delivered by our team of engineers in the past 12 months.
Company: Total
Asset: North Alwyn Bravo
Project Overview:
FEED study to look at the replacement of obsolete Condition Monitoring, Anti-Surge and Compressor logic systems within 10 off Unit Control Panels across the North Alwyn B platform. The study involved the generation of site survey reports, detailed I/O schedules, system vendor specifications, proposed architecture drgs, migration strategies and commissioning specifications.
The final report included a +/- 20% cost estimate for engineering, construction, commissioning & close-out. This level of detail allowed Total to move into the detailed design phase with confidence in both the technical and commercial aspects of the project.
Company: Enquest
Asset: Thistle
Project Overview:
Working directly with the Enquest Facilities engineering team C&I Engineering Solutions assisted in the generation of the single discipline “Instrument” workpack. This approach was selected by Enquest as a cost effective alternative to the mainstream EPC route.
Our engineering team developed instrument data sheets, bill of materials, hook-ups, loop & termination drgs. We also produced vendor scopes of work for PLC modifications. The final deliverable was a streamlined fit for purpose engineering workpack in an agreed Enquest format. The installation element was still managed by the incumbent construction contractor.
Company: BP
Asset: Bruce
Project Overview:
Working directly with the BP Facilities engineering team we looked at the future supportability of the solid state Post Red Shutdown panels. With the recent downturn in oil price many controls improvement projects are no longer viable and operators are looking at maintaining existing equipment longer. C&I Engineering Solutions reviewed the installed base, spares holdings, maintenance routines and most importantly the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) product lifecycle status. The end result of the study concluded that the existing panels can be safely and reliably supported until the current Life of Field date.
Company: Nexen
Asset: Buzzard
Project Overview:
Working directly with the Nexen Facilities engineering team we looked at 5 possible options for improving the reliability of the existing Well Shutdown System. The options included repair, bypass, replace, expand or complete removal of the existing SIL rated well shutdown system.
The final report included a +/- 20% cost estimate for engineering, construction, commissioning & close-out. This level of detail allowed Nexen to move into the detailed design phase with confidence in both the technical and commercial aspects of the project.
Company: Premier Oil
Asset: Balmoral
Project Overview:
This project involved a review of the current Integrated Control & Safety Systems IT security on-board the Balmoral FPV. The review was classed as a “Gap Analysis” against an internationally recognised standard. Our workscope included an offshore survey and final report detailing recommendations where required to further improve the current IT security.
Company: Total
Asset: St Fergus Gas Plant
Project Overview:
Working directly with the Total Facilities engineering team C&I Engineering Solutions assisted in the generation of the single discipline “Instrument” workpack. This approach was selected by Total as a cost effective alternative to the mainstream EPC route.
Our engineering team developed block diagrams, cable routings, bill of materials, loop, & termination drgs. We also produced a vendor scope of work for the F&G PLC modifications. The final deliverable was a streamlined fit for purpose engineering workpack in an agreed Total format. The installation element was still managed by the incumbent construction contractor.
Company: BP
Asset: Andrew
Project Overview:
Working directly with the BP asset engineering team we are Facilitating a full Alarm Rationalisation exercise inline with EEMUA191 & BP General Specifications. Through a series of workshops the review team are responsible for the rationalisation of circa 6000 alarms and the delivery of an updated and fully rationalised Alarm Response Manual.
